Big news for RCB ahead of IPL 2017

South African captain and backbone of RCB’s batting line up, AB De Villiers surprises everyone with his tweet ‘Great to be back in bangalore. Looking forward to the start of the 2017 IPL’.

After missing the final game of Momentum one day cup it was not confirmed if he will play initial games of IPL.
After getting injured on the first day in Ranchi test Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been ruled of the initial games of IPL. If absence of skipper Kohli, AB de Villiers will lead the side until kohli takes the field again. Both Kohli and De Villiers have been the backbone of RCB’s batting line up being the highest and 2nd highest run scorers of the league.
De Villiers at No.4 with the variety of shots and experience provides the stability to the batting order that no one can replace. Everyone knows what damage he can cause on his day. He has twice hit his own teammate Dale Steyn for 23 runs in the penultimate over to win the match for his team RCB. Last year, In the first Qualifier against Gujarat Lions He single handedly took his team over the line with a mesmerising innings. His judgement and capability to read the bowler is a blessing.
The RCB will feature in this years opening match on april 5th. They will play against the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. Though Kohli and KL Rahul won’t be a part of contest but expect it to be one heck of a contest with the likes of De Villiers, Gayle and Watson in the side.
