Preview : India vs West Indies , 2nd ODI, Port of Spain.

It will be the second ODI of this series which will be played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. After the first game of the series ended up in a washout this game is also under threat of rain.

Indian scoreboard was moving good until the rain started. Young Kuldeep Yadav who was on an ODI debut in last game din’t even get a chance to hold the ball. Whereas Rishabh Pant who has already become a crowd favorite in India (all thanks to IPL) is due to get a game. He may get a chance in place of Yuvraj , Dhoni or Jadhaw at some point in this series.

West Indies are without any of their top guns as they have opted out of contract with WICB due to payment issues. This series is a chance for youngsters like Chase, Joseph & Lewis to show what they have got in their bag. They surely are capable enough to perform good against any opposition.

Pitch Report

It will be the same venue where last game was played. It looked good with something for spinners. Before the first ODI, Jeffrey Dujon described the pitch at the Queens Park Oval as a “tie-dye t-shirt”. The one thing he was certain of was that it would spin in the first innings and flatten out later.

Weather Report

Rain is predicted throughout the match. It will be another start stop day for cricketers.

Watch out for :

Ajinkya Rahane : He has been one of the most unluckiest cricketer of India. from past 4-5 years, he has been in the side but only gets to play if someone is injured or rested. His inconsistency in ODI has also costed him a bit. Its high time for him to do something worth fixing his spot in playing XI. You may witness a big 100 or 150 from his bat in upcoming matches , keeping in mind his form from first game.

Evin Lewis : He is compared with Chris Gayle in West Indies. He kept Gayle on the bench in the T-20 series between India & West Indies which took place in USA, last year. Where he played an swashbuckling inning on his  T-20 debut. He smashed Stuart Binny for 5 consecutive sixes and also scored his maiden century. Since then he has got good starts for West Indies in limited overs game, but has failed to deliver big. A big knock is required from this young man and a little bit of consistency.
