Preview : England vs South Africa , 2nd T20.

After a thrashing defeat for Africa in Southampton in first T20I, they will now travel to Taunton  for second T20I of this series. South Africa are low on confidence as they are not having a memorable tour till now. The only standout performance has been the third ODI against England before Champions Trophy where they bowled England out for 153 runs. Captain Ab de Villers needs to marshal his troops and show what his side is capable of. Although they are without their top guns but only a win can boost their morale.

England captain Eoin Morgan said right before start of series that he will give chance to all the players in the squad at-least two of the Livingstone, Malan , Overton  & Curran will get a debut it will be interesting to see who they will replace.

Form guide

England WLLWL (completed matches, most recent first)
South Africa LWLLW

Pitch report

It is one such track in world where every batsmen want’s to bat and smash bowlers all around the park. It will be a batting paradise looking at the recent Royal London game played at this venue where more than 800 runs were scored in a 50-50 over contest.

Probable XI

It is very unpredictable to decide what will be Morgan’s choice going into this game Craig Overton may get a preference as it is his home venue. Rest will depend on how Morgan thinks.

England : 1 Jason Roy, 2 Alex Hales/Dawid Malan, 3 Jonny Bairstow, 4 Eoin Morgan (capt), 5 Sam Billings/Liam Livingstone, 6 Jos Buttler (wk), 7 Liam Dawson, 8 Chris Jordan, 9 David Willey 10 Liam Plunkett/Tom Curran., 11 Craig Overton

South Africa will definitely rope in services of Chris Morris who is considered as one of the best allrounder’s  in the shortest format of the game.

South Africa : 1 JJ Smuts, 2 Reeza Hendricks, 3 AB de Villiers (capt), 4 David Miller, 5 Farhaan Berhardien, 6 Mangaliso Mosehle (wk), 7 Wayne Parnell, 8 Chris Morris, 9 Andile Phehlukwayo, 10 Imran Tahir, 11 Tabraiz Shamsi

Watch out for

Jason Roy : He is one of the most talent cricketer in England according to captain Morgan. He looked in great touch in first T20I after his ordinary performance in Champions Trophy. He would love to score big and seal his spot again in England limited over line up.

Ab de Villers : He failed to deliver in Champions Trophy but slowly but somehow he managed to finally get some runs from his bat. It might be his slowest knock ever in T20 facing more than 50 balls. His form will be key and he would love to score quick on a batting friendly pitch.
